Anemometer Wind direction with Davis wind vane
Posted: Mon Oct 26, 2015 5:38 pmAny ideas on how to go about using esp8266 to read wind speed and direction from the Davis Instruments windex (pic below)?
My guess is that wind direction senor is a pot and wind speed has a servo which generates voltage proportional to the wind speed. I'd like to make this whole thing solar powered and send NMEA 0183 format messages on a TCP port.. This would go on top of a sailboat. The closet commercial offering costs $400 and I think uses bluetooth to communicate.
