ESP8266 + Servo + LED

Hi there,
As I plan to get my hands on a ESP8266 it would be great to borrow some advice before heading to the cash desk.
I plan to have the ESP module running Arduino code powered on its own to control one servo motor and a small LED strip. Both the servo and LED are controlled remotely via Max Msp by analyzing some sound input.
Regarding the needed voltage for the ESP and the number of GPIO, which one would you recommend then ?
I thought the ESP8266-01 with a small 3.5V Lithium Ion battery could make the deal or am I wrong ?
That's it for the rough schematic, thanks in advance !
