hi to everyone. i am new to this forum.
i have been trying to make this
http://www.instructables.com/id/ESP8266-5-internet-controlled-switch/step4/Hardware/

and i have succeeded with esp8266-01

now i try to make the same with esp8266-12 all other material the same.
on the bread board with the breadboards power supply all is nice and working perfectly (3,3v setting on power supply)

when i change from breadboard power supply to the links above 3,3v ac to dc i will keep restarting. on the multi meter the readings go as low as 2,2v and rarely go higher than 2,6v.

i also have to add that on the esp8266-01 version i didn't even need the capacitor.

could you please advise me on what i could do in order to fix this issue.
should i buy an new power supply
can i make do with what i already have

Hi,

I encountered a similar voltage drop when powering my ESP-12F with two NiMH (2.8V when fully charged). Despite the fact that my ESP-12F was not able to connect to WLAN, I measured a voltage of 2.2V. The problem in my case: bad cable connections. I changed cables and, voilĂ , power on the ESP-12F was 2.76V.
Because the ESP-12F here does not run on two NiMH (see http://www.esp8266.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=11222&p=52865#p52865), I used four NiMH feeding an LD1117. That works so far.

Maybe you should check cable and solder points.
