Way to use ESP-14 STM8 micro controller

I recently bought a few ESP-14 thinking working the same as the ESP-12 but I was wrong. From what I know there is a stm8 µC and we can only use the esp8266's gpio 0. The other pins are owned by the stm8. Is this the stm8 as slave or the opposite ? How can we use the stm gpios ? Because this is really bad documented...
