Is it possible to Söldner an ESP in a single layer PCB?
As I underatand, e.g. in this example:

I need to use vias for GND und er the centre of the IC. Can i instead connect the GND plane oft the IC to a GND pin ?

so here is attached my layout and Schematics for my ESP single layer.

I want to connect a PCA9685 (https://cdn-shop.adafruit.com/datasheets/PCA9685.pdf) via I2C, thus I will use GPIO02 and GPIO14 for SDA / SCL.

Also one Image of the IC in detail where you can see the GND connection. Question would be if this is enough?

Hope to get some help here

Hi, I can't comment on the ground as I only used assembled ESP modules, but here is a little project using the PCA9685 that my be worth looking at - it works well. I notice you don't use OE is that intended? I pulled it high with a 10K resistor and used a GPIO to take it low once the ESP & PCA where setup to prevent any unwanted output if the ESP reset for any reason.

I don't think the GND center pad connected with a so tiny wire will be enough, since we all know that ESP8266 a peak current above 400mA.
