? Connecting ESP8266 via Coax Cabel instead WIFI-Antenna?

Hi,

is it possible to connect (multiple) ESP8266 via a coax Cable instead of using the WIFI antenna?

Background: I would like to use the ESP in a smart home but I do not want to use wireless for the communication and would like to use a cable base network instead.

How do one solder the cable to the esp board (keywords: impedance, balun ??) and
what topographic of the cable will be possible (star, tree, ring)?

Reducing the TX-Power might also save energy?

Thanks!
Cheers Jim ;)

The operating frequency is too high for any kind of cable approach. You would be best off using wired ethernet.
