Hello,

I just revived two nodeMCU eap8266 units purchased from Amazon.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B010O1G1 ... SY340_QL65

I plug it into my laptop USB via standard microUSB cable. I see the blue light turn on for just a split second and then off. If I hit the reset button it does the same. And the computer basically sees nothing. I've seen people talking about the 3v power supply. But this should still work but just plugging it in. Any help or pointers are greatly appreciated.

Hi,
I have the same Problem. I also own the variant with the CP2102 Bridge. My NodeMCU also doesn't appear in the device Manager and basically doesnt get detected at all. I tried using different Micro Usb cables and I verified that those cables can transmit data and power. I use Windows 10 x64. Maybe a defect batch was shipped out?
