non-invasive DC current sensor (not AC)

I've seen a lot of these in AC version, but I would like one for DC to measure below 1A. Where can I find the sensor and external clamp.

Thanks in advance

You can use a dedicated IC for that. You can see a example design here:
SmartMonv2.7Ex - Power monitor :
Part1 - General view - Youtube video : General view
Part2 - Real Time Clock driver example - Youtube video : ESP8266 RTC Driver example
Part3 - Power Monitor software example

AC clamp current sensors are simple. But for DC it is more difficult. What you need to search for is Hall Effect Current Sensor Transducer.

Use the following as a starting point. http://www.scienceshareware.com/how-to- ... clamp-.htm

Thank, a little more complex that I was hoping. I searched for split core hall effect dc current sensor and found a good list of available options here, most of them require a 12V power source.

Ideally looking for something that can do non-invasive DC current (3.0v-12v) 0-10A without having to purchase $100+ meter.
