SPI Flash - OTP Security Registers / SFDP

Some SPI Flash modules look to have "Three 256-byte Security Registers with OTP protection". Including the defacto standard Winbond chips on ESP-x boards. I'm attempting to make a (consumer) product, and a unique read-only IDs and/or encryption keys would be a nice-to-have.

And this seems to be something that is already there, and not utilized that would keep me from adding another chip to my design.

Has anyone utilized or attempt to use these registers ? I don't care about the Winbond part specifically - I'll likely move away from ESP-12e and directly use the ESP8266, so I can source my own SPI Flash.

There is "Read Unique ID Number (4Bh)" on some chips, but available upon special request order.
