Only 2-3 packages per second possible?!

currently I am working on a project where I need ca. 50 packages per second.
I want to transmitt the data via Serial from my Arduino Micro board to the ESP8266-01 chip and send it to my server. Therefore I already implemented MQTT and Websockets, but it seems that the esp is only able to send two or three packages a second. Is this true? Is there a faster solution?
