WeMos "X" series boards are counterfeits, not from WeMos

If you like the WeMos D1 Mini and related shields, you might be excited to see a new WeMos "X" series of boards and shields, with ESP32 or ESP8266, a WS2812 ring, battery shield, relay shield, display shield, etc.
These are NOT from the company you know as WeMos. Somebody else has (this year) registered "WeMos" as a trademark and begun making boards with that logo. None of their stuff will appear on wemos.cc, and isn't supported by WeMos.
This has weird echos of the Arduino/Genuino kerfuffle, which sucks.
Also, the pinouts are incompatible with actual WeMos products.
The boards themselves aren't terrible, and could probably have had a life of their own if they'd just chosen a brand name that wasn't already being used by somebody else.
