Hello, I have some NodeMCUs laying around, but I need something smaller for one of my projects. Instead of waiting for separate ESP-12E to arrive, can I somehow unsolder the ESP from NodeMCU? Have someone tried it already?

I have done one. And I have done similar modules before. It is easy to damage the boards. It helps to have the proper tools and experience.
