I have an ESP8266EX which I tried to update using the CIUPDATE. I got a whole load of garbage in return on the terminal when I tried to do this which went on and on and in the end I disconnected it.

Now when I fire it up all I get is a RED led on and the blue LED is flashing rapidly.

When I connect via terminal and screen I am getting a whole load of garbage back from the device.

I can no longer communicate with it.

Please help!!

Is GPIO2 connected to GND.? Try leaving it floating or connected to VCC

Floating, GND or VCC makes no difference. Just keeps doing what is in the video.
