Connecting MCP-25625 CAN-controller/receiver to ESP8266-12F?

Hi,
I'm new in this forum, so a "Hello" to all of you!
I want to connect a MCP-25625 CAN-controller/transceiver to a ESP8266-12F module. Because of lack of GPIOs i want to use the SPI instead of HSPI. Is the MOSI directly routed from the ESP8266-EX or daisy-chained via the flash memory?
Are there any drawbacks with the SPI compared with the HSPI?
Thanx for any hint!
Renne
