I just received the prototypes for two new development boards.

1) Breakout/Programmer for the ESP-07, ESP-12, and ESP-01 modules. FTDI interface connector, 3.3V regulator, reset/program buttons, level-shifting on the RX serial line, on/off switch, and an 8-pin socket for the ESP-01...

2) Breadboard "T" adapter for the ESP-07 and ESP-12 modules. FTDI interface connector, 3.3V regulator, reset/program buttons, and level-shifting on the RX serial line...

Both use pluggable/removable ESP modules...

You know what I would like to see in a board... Something that doesn't require one to solder the ESP-xx down. A socket with spring-loaded pins that I could pop an ESP-12 (for example) into, use that to upgrade the firmware, load code, do some testing, etc, and then be able to pop the ESP back out and THEN solder it into place in my final creation.

I think something like that would sell, especially if it came with a variety of sockets to fit the variants available. Little daughterboards that let you socket in an ESP-03, or ESP-06, or an ESP-12, break them out to a standard pinout on 0.1" headers, which you could then plug into the dev board.

I already made prototypes of an adapter for the ESP-07/12 that converts the pin-out to standard DIP-16 spacing. Uses the same 2mm spaced pins and sockets as my other boards...
