Hi, today i've received the esp-03, I've put it into a breadboard for an easily pin access.
Tied CH_PD to VCC (without pull-up) GPIO_0 and 15 both to GND.
Esptool say "Failed to connect", where is the problem? Maybe it's broken?

I had also the Problem and put 2.2k pullup between VCC + CH_PD. Try it, hope it helps you.

You might need to take a closer look at those solder joints under a good magnifying glass. Your photo indicates that some of them might need rework.

I've checked all the pad with a tester, and they are goods. Not working also with the resistor!
