GPIO0 got stuck at generating clk_out signal

I'm using ESP-07 module and its GPIO0 pin is stuck at generating clk_out signal (26MHz) even after performing reset.
I'm unable to flash the module even after connecting GPIO0 to gnd. It gives "Failed to connect" error.
I read the datasheet and it says that GPIO0 is supposed to be in clock-generating mode after reset but somehow mine never comes out of the mode. Upon resetting, the serial console (baud rate=74880) shows the following message:

ets Jan 8 2013,rst cause:1, boot mode:(1,7)

Any idea how to fix this?
Thanks

I wrap mine up in alfoil for a few days and try again from scratch. I still have one wrapped up now . I figure it dissipates all electrical signals and capacitances and give me my best hope of saving it

You might have a bad module. See:

Otherwise make sure you have a good power supply, capable of delivering 0.5A peak.
