#22227 Just looking on ebay and came across this item

Image

The EBAY link is
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ESP8266-201-Serial-Port-WIFI-Wireless-Transceive-Module-Send-Receive-IO-Lead-Out-/400931294505?

There is no detail about flashing the firmware but it is cheap at $3.85USD + Free Shipping.

I wonder if it is a flashable item?

Any thoughts?

#22234 This is one of the standard crappy ESP-201.
The 0-ohm resistor is populated the wrong way, so the U.FL connector is selected instead of the PCB antenna.
The U.FL connector is in most cases mounted the wrong way, so the antenna input is shorted to ground.
So you either have to move the resistor, or turn the connector by 180°.
And if you plan to use this on a breadboard, you should resolder the programming connector to the other side.
