Suppose WiFi is turned off. The ESP8266 is doing simple GPIO operations like reading and writing to digital pins. What is the typical current consumption in such a mode?

I get about 13.7 milliamps with an ESP-12 (with no power on LED) running at 80MHz and 14.6milliamps when running at 160MHz. That doesn't seem to vary much with supply voltage.

(With all your power use questions maybe you should splash out a few dollars on one of these, they're really handy :) )
