Hi,
I would to control a DC with an esp-12E using the hg7881 module. According to the datasheet input voltage is 2.5-12v so I've connected it to a 9.6v NiMh battery. The esp is running on a 3.3v breadboard power supply and the two ground are shared between. The motor work for a few seconds, but after it stop and the esp8266 get very hot. Now the module is dead, since that after a while it become untouchable as it is hot and the led won't turn on anymore.
So I think that I've done a big mistake, but what?

I believe something is connected incorrectly.

I use the same modules (HG7881/L9110 and ESP-12E) and powered everything with 7.4V (2x18650 li-ion batteries). For ESP, i use step-down buck converter, but the HG7881 uses the "raw" output of batteries. I use no logic voltage converters or anything like that and it works very well.
