ESP-12E 4Mb(it) or 4MB(yte)

Hi...maybe (or probably) this question has been asked before but i still can't find some good directions.

Some month ago I started my first project using an ESP8266. So I ordered on AliExpress an NodeMCU devboard and some ESP-12E's units. The latter one for breadboarding into my own application i.e. PCB design.

The ESP-12E on the NodeMCU dev board contains a 4MByte flash chip. I can confirm this by reading out the flash size.
The ESP-12E units however contain a 512MByte flash...
..sillyt enough there's no visible marking to show these differences. As my application is growing beyond 512kByte i need some ESP-12E's with 4MByte flash on board.

I ordered the following :
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/New-Wire ... 17059.html
http://www.aliexpress.com/item/Free-Shi ... 61821.html

So my big question is : does anyone know a reliable source for 4MByte ESP-12E's ?

Regards,
J.

512kbytes = 512000 * 8 bits/byte = 4,096,000 bits - hope this helps
as for good source ? Just got some ESP-13 , of course enclosed with cover , Have no Idea what the contain ..
IE latest / supplier .

Thanks for your reply...

..I'm not mixing up bits and bytes here ;) . Will create some screen dumps/log this evening to show in more detail what i mean. Cannot do that right now.

The most simplest way to distinguish the 4Mb and 4MB versions of ESP-12E is to look the color and shape of the PCB. The black PCB with slightly rounded corners are 4Mb versions. The blue PCBs with sharp 90 degree corners are the 4MB versions.
Also, the smaller 4Mb version has GPIO4 and GPIO5 markings reversed. (Electrically everything is fine, just printed markers are wrong)

There might be some exceptions, but those are the first things to look at, as i have understood.

The link to aliexpress you have given, seems to me to be some kind of ESP-12-Q:
