NodeMcu Lua ESP8266 ESP-12E WIFI Development Board USB

Hello All.
I recently purchased two NodeMcu Lua ESP8266 ESP-12E WIFI Development Boards and am unable to connect to USB. I get a never heard before bump, bump, bump sound instead of the normal connection sound when I plug it in. I tried loading the CP210x USB to UART Bridge VCP Driver from Silicone Labs but that failed. I was successful in installing the cp2102 driver from Pololu.
I also noticed that a CP2102 USB to UART Bridge Controller (COM44) is listed in the Device Manager and nothing describing the NodeMCU shows up in COM Ports. Via the Arduino 1.6.5 IDE I am unable to connect to it.
I am running Windows Vista.
Anyone have any suggestions for a solution?
Thanks - Scotty
