Description
We have taken a cheap electric toothbrush, and added an ESP8266.
When the toothbrush is powered on, it will try to connect to the WIFI network. If this fails, the ESP8266 becomes an access point, and can then be provisioned with the local WIFI login credentials using the mobile phone (only required for the first time).
Now that the toothbrush is on the WIFI network, whenever it is running, it will log data to a server. So graphs are produced showing when the toothbrush has been used.
It can be used by parents to track kids tooth brushing, and the analytics have a lot of value to the toothbrush manufacturer, they could for example sell this data to the World Health Organisation, who would love to have detailed charts from around the world of tooth brush usage.
Parts
1 cheap electric toothbrush
1 ESP-03
1 100 uFarad Capacitor (optional)
Wire and Solder
