CoAp, MQTT Question on Encryption

I am looking at the Atmel ECDH/ECC to provide Encryption of the plan text Authentication of COAP and MQTT using the ESP8266. Anyone have any experiance?
I want to Encrypt all data from my endpoint nodes and my servers.
I am using Openhab, but not married to it yet. :)
