Power Saving

I have built an RGB LED strip controller with ESP-01. I want to control it from my phone, so the WiFi have to be on. I want to make it real-time and I want to run it on 2 AA batteries. It is somehow possible to decrease the power consumption, without disabling WiFi? Will it run on the batteries for at least 2 months?

If it isn't possible, I can make a simple server on my NAS, and ESP will try to download info from the server, for example, every ten seconds, but as I said, I would prefer to have it real-time.

Thanks

Your requirements for battery power are unrealistic.
In both cases, you reach a maximum operating time for one day.

The ESP uses ~75mA when the wifi is on, a typical AA battery has a capacity of 2500mA-Hr which would run the ESP for 2500/75 = 33hours. There is no way of reducing RF power and your only option would be to use deep sleep and wake up at preset intervals but then not real time operating.

how do you power your rgb-strip? from the same batteries?
if not, why not use this supply for ESP also?
