NodeMCU 1.0 Heat problems

Hello!

I just purchased my first nodeMCU 1.0 development board with ESP-12E and CP2102 chip from eBay. My problem is when I plug it in with USB it really heats up, to that point it burns my finger and I can't hold it in my hand. Why is that and how can I solve this problem?

I can upload code via Arduino IDE without any problems.
I am worried that the heat will damage the board.

Thank you in advance,
Svetlin

Measure the voltage and make sure it is correct. The +5 volts from the USB and the 3.3 volts on the module. Also check for shorted pins. It should not be getting hot like that.

Thank you! I'll do it. But I don't have another board to compare the voltages.

would be more important to know which part / chip gets hot ...
