Ok, this is a real Noob question but I need an adapter that can be soldered into a PCB and then the ESP8266 is then inserted into the adapter. Can anyone lead me in the right direction with this?

Not enough detail. ESP8266 is the main chip. On a module there is also a flash chip for the code and some resistors and capacitors. There are different modules with different connections available. Two popular modules are the ESP-12 and the ESP-01. The ESP-01 is easier to connect to but it has few IO pins available for use.

Could you be more specific in what you need.

My 8266 has 30 pins on it. I would like to get an adapter with 30 female ports for this module to click into. The adapter will be soldered to a PCB. Its basically there so I don't have to solder the 8266 directly to the board. Does this make sense?
