Bought a esp8266 for a wifi jammer but it seems dead
Posted: Fri Aug 04, 2017 10:07 pmBefore starting out, I would like to say that I am completly 100% new to these types of things, and this is for personal legal use in my own home, not these crazy "shut down everyone's wifi type of deal".
Anyways, I bought this:

When connecting it to a million different power options, the blue light lit up then went out. From what I was understanding, this should have it's own wifi network named "pwned" by default. You connect to that, then go to a certain IP address where you can then control wifi and whatnot.. Anyways, I don't get a wireless network named this, or any new networks for that matter. I have searched for this network with a Macbook, Iphone, And Dell laptop running Linux. Nothing on any of them.
Sorry if this is a basic noob failure. I work on vintage circuit boards, not stuff like this.
