ESP8266 arduino Mega cannot connect remotely

Hello,
I have an arduino Mega connected to ESP8266. The sketch runs a server that an android app uses to connect to. When I try and access it locally is ok. When I do port forward that I cannot and the port never opens. I have also put my home modem into bridge mode by my ISP so that all port will be open and passtrhough to my home router but with no success. I have changed the mode, reset it and even tried with other two locations. I know that the procedure with port forward is ok because when I run similar sketch to a NodeMcu with ESP8266 I can access it via internet. Any ideas? Is the esp8266 refusing my internet request? A bit strange since I can access it locally but not remotely.
Thank you
Best Regards
