IDE Complier Error after working for weeks

I'm getting an exit status -1073741515, Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module) and am stuck getting this to work. I had the IDE working for weeks and successfully uploaded my sketch to my NodeMCU, but after a week or so I went back into the IDE and now nothing will compile. Any suggestions on what to try would be greatly appreciated.

Here's the error I'm getting:

Error compiling for board NodeMCU 1.0 (ESP-12E Module).

I've completely uninstalled the IDE, deleted all Arduino folders, reinstalled, reinstalled the 8266 board from board manager, selected the NodeMCU 1.0 board from board manager, and still get the same compile error when compiling the simple blink example sketch. I'm installing the IDE from the windows store.

I've set windows to view hidden files and still don't see the Arduino15 folders in the Local\Packages\Arduino15 even though it's referenced all over the log.

I do have C:\Users\phil\AppData\Local\Packages\ArduinoLLC.ArduinoIDE_mdqgnx93n4wtt and C:\Users\phil\Documents\Arduino. These are the two location I deleted before the reinstall.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to get my IDE working again?

arduino.cc shows 1.8.4 is the latest version but your log shows version 1.8.7. I suggest downloading the IDE directly from arduino.cc and not trust the windows store.
