Programming ESP8266 ESP01 using Mac High Sierra

I heard somewhere that flashing or programming ESP8266 using iOS High Sierra doesn’t worm for some reasons. Is that true? Because I haven’t been able to do that, even though my USB device worked fine. Is there any info on this, and is there a solution to it?
