I have been looking at dozens of sites and found tons of stuff on the usage /settings of esp8266-01.
BUT what I cannot find in HOW to start communicating and with WHAT program.
I have a Arduino Leonardo board, a couple of Esp01 and esp01 with a songle relay mounted on one board (all the stuff came from ebay), an external 5vDC supply .

On pushing the reset , the led flashes and the relay clicks. So it works. How do I get this to work from a mobile phone? I tried the following apps:
ESP8266 Smart Config
My wifi relay
IOT smart config
IOT Espressif
WIFI controller..... and a few more
BUT none "seem" to work Some want to know a PORT number and most want a IP address........I tried all the below mentioned IP addresses but none work
How do I get the actual IP address?
eg Connected to my laptop and using IPCONFIG/ALL command. it shows the default gateway as 192.169.4.1.
Yet pinging in Firefox the board responds OK to 3 IP addresses :102.168.4.1 , 192.168.4.2 and 192.169.4.3 What's going on here?? (192.168.4.4 and higher does not connect)
I downloaded Hyper-terminal and Realterm, both want Comports -in and but neither want to know the ESP over wifi.
Can anyone please help..
