I bought this WiFi controlled switch, which is very similar (at least, the external plastic cover) to others that run an ESP8266 / ESP32. I was wondering if you have ever seen these modules shipped with this metal cover:

Another question that I have is related to the PCB, on this board the tracks are completely hidden, what sort of soldering mask / painting has been used? Can it be removed?

I am trying to find the holes of the serial port.
