NODEMCU ESP8266 resets when trying to run MemoryLCD code

I am trying to get the memory LCD (https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-sha ... t/overview) running from adafruit on a NODEMCU ESP8266.
I'm using sharpmemtest example code that works on another board I tested. It would be awesome if one of you has any ideas why the board is resetting at a certain time. video: https://drive.google.com/open?id=1A2Qq8 ... hLdsZAdOO1
