ESP8266 and Greengrass

Hi all,
just got started with the ESP8266 and already am impressed. I've managed to set it up to connect to AWS IoT and can send MQTT messages to the cloud by directly connecting to the broker (using certificates etc.), which is great (and not bad for a few hours worth of work!).
My next challenge is to introduce a Greengrass device, which I currently run on a raspberry pi. Is it a matter of repointing ESP8266 to the Greengrass broker? I'm sure that means I'll have to change certificates etc.?
Any recent guides that accomplish this and/or any resources you can point me to?
much appreciated,
