Folks:
I am brand new to ESP8266 and as a first step, I ordered some Sonoff SV for garage door. Using youtube, I made it an isolated inching capable device. Used eWe Link to configure and update the OTA firmware to 3.01.
I fried one making bad connections but the second appeared to be working fine. With one problem. It is often offline. I moved an access point very close to it sensing that 2.4 is often overcrowded but it still goes offline.
When its offline, I make a superb impression on my wife of my skills!!!
Since, I don't have this problem of offline, online with our laptops and phones, I suspect that the firmware may be culprit.
Before I flash Tasmota or ESPhome or something else, I thought of asking you guys.
Assuming simple use cases like garage and gate opening with magnetic read switch, which firmware gives me the best WIFI client? I think all capabilities are useless unless the WIFI can be made rock solid predictable.
