nodeMCU sketch burn to flash

this is my first steps in this board . I used before arduino UNO and Mini and when I upload the sketch using the Arudino IDE or windows VS it was burn to flash so after after turn on the app run . I try to upload a sketch to my nodeMCU board (esp-12) using the Arudino IDE and it run but I don't know how to burn it .
Do i have to use other tool ? try to do some search but found only how to upload a firmware
