ESP8266 to dmx getting flicker on output

What I got is light fixtures flicker fast randomly.
If I change CPU frequency to 80MHz in Arduino IDE (not as instructed in instructable 160Mhz) then it works better and get one or two random flicker in second. What am I missing here?
