WLED starts, but no wifi network is available

Hello,
I'm trying to get WLED working on an ESP8266 and the flashing works fine. When I start the board the led´s turn amber, so it looks like it's starting. But there is no WLED-AP network available.
If I transfer something else to the board using the Arduino IDE, I can see a wifi network from the board.
I have been following this guide: https://tynick.com/blog/11-03-2019/gett ... n-esp8266/
I have tried two different boards, one ESP-12-F and one that looks like this but has 4MB flash. I have the same problem on both.
Any suggestions on how to get the wifi working? This is my first ESP8266 projects, I have used Arduino before.
EDIT: I would like to delete this post but can't find how to do it.
