Beginner help - nodemcu, wifi and RGB-strip

Absolute esp8266 n00b here with no experience with programming. But I am a curious one, and learn fast.
I'm looking to do my first project and have some nodemcu's i bought on ebay a year ago. So i'm just getting my feet wet now.
Goal: Power and controll a simple 5v RGB-strip with wifi. I want the nodemcu to generate its own wifi,
So; I have the nodemcu, 5v RGB-strip, breadboard and Arduino 1.8.13 installed. So far I have confirmed that my setup is working by uploading the simple blink sketch and see the board blink.
Can any one hold my hand, and guide me step by stem to get this goal achieved? =)
