Hi there,
any idea why an ESP8266 unit announces its hostname to the DHCP server as ESP_XXXXXX on first connection and then on all subsequent connections it announces itself as NODE-XXXXXX (the XXXXXX is obviously last six hex numbers of the MAC address)?
It's very confusing for the user. Can't we get the NODE-XXXXX even on the first connection? Or even better, can't the hostname sent via DHCP client request be user configurable?
