So I just got a brand new nodemcu module. It does work when i plug the usb cable in, there is even a sample wi-fi network being hosted on it and the reset button seems to work fine but the nodemcu isn't shown in windows' device manager or in lsusb command output on linux. Installing CH340 driver doesn't help. Is my module broken or am i missing something?

Beware that some USB cables are for charging purposes and don't provide data pins.

tested it with 2 different cables, both of them work fine with my phone
