from program code in core_esp8266_si2c.c it (endTransmission() without sending stop_condition) should be implemeted ...

What IAQ-Sensor are you using, if I might ask? And does it do a good job? I know this is only subjective

Man those are pricey...though they are 3.3V and have I2C. Not sure if they are worth the price compared to a MQ-135...decisions decisions
Would be nice if you could share any progress you make during your tests
