Hey lovely folks,

hope you can help me out somehow

even tough I already did some fun stuff with arduino, I got lost with this whole esp8266 thingy.

What I want to achieve is to establish a communication between two esp8266 over the internet —>

I never build myself any database so I’m looking for a nice workaround like using firebase or google spreadsheets. Is there any way you would recommend?

There are quite a few options for this depending on what you are trying to achieve. Have you looked into cloud solution like Ubidots? You don't say what you are trying to do but other options might include ThingStudio, IFTT, self-hosted or cloud MQTT brokers.
