Which EspressIf SDK does Arduino ESP8266 use?

EspressIf SDK gets to be updated pretty frequently. Does Arduino chase the SDK updates as well? Which SDK is the latest Arduino using today?

Arduino doesn't use any espressif SDK at all.
The recent (2.3.0 stable) boardmanager package that igrr provides for Arduino IDE brings SDK 1.5.3_16_04_18
At the moment there seems to be no up-to-date staging version.
If you download the git-version and install manually, you get ~1.5.3.3
There is some thread where you can get a up-to-date package with sdk 2.0.0 with current git board-package but this is experimantal an of course unstable by nature....

Doesn't SDK 1.5.3_16_04_18 belong to espressIf?
