ESP8266 Community Forum

i m a beginner and i've found you in this page, when i tried to buy a SIM800L V2 module:

In the Page isn't written anywhere that the shield is ESP8266, but this website is between the "community" list.
i would like to buy a sim800L module, but before to buy i would like to have some support. is this Forum good for me? is ESP8266 what i need?
If so, i need some help before to buy.

- Thu May 25, 2017 5:30 am #66286 The SIM800L is a GSM module for connecting to phone networks, not a wifi / CPU module like the esp8266.

There are a couple of posts on the forums here referring about how to use the 800L as a GSM connection from an esp8266, but I don't think this is really the right place to look for support on this.
