Hi,

i just got a 16 pin 8266 module and while trying to connect to it via serial monitor i only get gibberish. i tried all baud rates possible still the data i get makes no sense. can anyone help me please

connection :

GND = arduino GND
VCC = arduino 3.3V
CH_PD = 3.3V
TX , RX to arduino TX and RX
GPIO15 to GND
GPIO02 to VCC

an Arduino 3.3 v power output is not capable of running an esp8266. you need something capable of sourcing 200ma+
