[SOLVED] Upload speed above 115200 doesn't work

I have the Arduino IDE up and running and flashing successfully to my ESP-12. However, if I select an upload speed higher than 115200, such as 921600, it will never flash successfully.
Is there anything special that must be done to use the higher flashing speeds?

I had the same problem using esptool.py.. would be interesting to here an answer. (might be bad cable/connection for me)

What sort of USB-TTL converter do you have?
Is this part suitable for those high speeds?
