Visualization and controlling an ESP over web interface.

Hi,
just thinking on a new project.
I want to use an ESP-12 as a PLC-controller for something like house-automation.
For this I would like to use a webinterface. In this there should be shown some actual values, graphic elements with changing colours, status of relais etc. Also there is some need to send infos to the ESP (Start some action with a button in the webinterface, send nominal values...)
I did similiar (more low level) with an arduino a lot of months ago, but the developing of this webpage was very hard for me.
I coded everything with the arduino editor. Is there an easier way? Something like WYSIWYG? Or a graphical development tool?
