Hello,

I have been working on a project. A basic interpreter using the arduino esp8266 environment.

I want to publish my source code and need to select an open source licence for it.

What licence is hot these days and what pit falls are there for each.

Sounds like a cool project, no clue about the question.

Ended up going with the MIT licence. Short. Simple and too the point.

I got to say well done on this but why basic?

Reminds me of when I was a kid buying a magazine programming in 1500 lines of code, no internet in those day's or CD's to find square blocks floating around my screen, thank god for technology.

Basic was good in the day but we have moved so far forward to wonderfully object orientated languages, I really don't want to burst your bubble but why go back to the stone age?

We should be teaching the new generation the beauty of C++ C# and all things good.

Just my penny's worth.
